City Honors Elderly Residents
La Carlota City joined the celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week 2021 by awarding Certificate of Recognition (Longevity Award) and distribution of Cash Incentive to residents who are 90-99 years old of Brgy. I and II last October 26 at the Brgy. Il Covered Court.
A total of 122 awardees from the different barangays of the city are expected to receive their award and cash incentive this month. The -program was organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Office of Senior Citizen’s Affairs emphasized the value of the health and welfare of the senior citizens during the pandemic.
In attendance were Mayor Rex R. Jalando-on, Vice Mayor Jun-jun Baga, SP members Akoy Sia and Lidoy Miravalles, Brgy. I Punong Brgy. Jojo Jalandoni, Brgy. II Punong Barangay Jervy Advincula, CSWDO Senior Citizen Focal Person Jessilyn Magno and OSCA President Julian Bionat.
The celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week is pursuant to Proclamation No. 470 (September 26, 1994) which declared the First Week of October of every year as Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino. This year’s theme is “Healthy and Productive Ageing Starts with ME!”
