Ceremonial Groundbreaking Kicks Off Construction of Jacky Ville

The City Government of La Carlota and Habitat for Humanity Philippines represented by Mayor Rex R. Jalando-on and Habitat’s CEO Mardi Mapa-Suplido, respectively, signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for and led the Groundbreaking of the Luis Jalandoni Village last February 15.

The Luis Jalandoni Village Project will give rise to Jacky Ville, named after the late City Mayors Luis “Nonoy” Jalandoni Jr. and Luis “Jacky” Jalandoni III for their exemplary work and service for the Mangkasanon community.

Through its partnership with Habitat, the City Government will be able to provide titled house and lot for the 241 beneficiaries of the resettlement site located in Brgy. Ayungon.

The Jacky Ville project falls under the Land for the Landless Program of the City Government.
The construction of the village is expected to begin next month and estimated to be completed next year.

“The project desires not just to provide roofs to the people but to develop the holistic aspect of all the children and the future children’s children,” said Habitat’s CEO Mapa-Suplido.

Mayor Rex was thankful for all the support, sacrifice and dedication of all the SP members, Department Heads, Habitat for Humanity and the rest of the team who helped in making Jacky Ville a reality.
Also present during the event were SP members Jegie Aguirre, Don Emboltorio, Lidoy Miravalles, Baste Benedicto, Akoy Sia, Kapid Badillo and Fini Jalandoni, Brgy. 1 Punong Barangay Jojo Jalandoni and Brgy. Ayungon Punong Barangay Rommel de los Reyes.
