City Distributes Gensets to Barangays

The City Government of La Carlota turned over a total of 20 sets of generators to the 14 barangays and six government offices last March 1 at the General Services Office, this city.

Eighteen sets of 5,000-watt generators made in Korea were distributed to the barangay, CSWDO, City Veterinarian Office, CDRRMO and PNP/LCCCPS. Two sets of 15,000-watt generators made in Japan were given to the General Services Office and the City Engineers Office.

The distribution of generator to the barangays and other government offices was prompted by the massive blackout experienced by the city after Typhoon Odette last December 2021. Most charging stations were established mainly at the city proper so the operations of the barangays were hampered while their residents have to come to the poblacion to recharge their gadgets.

To avoid this scenario from happening again, Mayor Rex R. Jalando-on suggested purchasing generator for each barangay and other selected offices for continued power supply in times of emergencies.

In attendance during the event were Doc Rex, Vice Mayor Junjun Baga, SP members Jegie Aguirre, Lidoy Miravalles, Baste Benedicto, Akoy Sia, Kapid Badillo and Fini Jalandoni, and the Punong Barangays.
