104.9 FM Trompa La Carlota Officially Signs On
The Local Government of La Carlota City, thru the Public Information Office, has successfully launched its official radio station- 104.9 FM Radyo Trompa La Carlota, at the City Gymnasium last July 15.
The bad weather that day did not hinder the Trompa anchors, staff and volunteers to conduct a motorcade and greet fellow Mangkasanons as they went around the city proper. They were accompanied with the full support of the staff and representatives from CARWATER, DepEd, PNP/La Carlota City Police Station, and BFP/La Carlota City Fire Station, Philippine Army Unifier Battalion, various LGU department and offices, Lion’s Club La Carlota City, and supporters from the business sector.
Mayor Rex R. Jalando-on, a pioneer Ka-Trompa, graced the event, together with Ms. Neri Ann Alibuyog, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, and Dr. Bernie L. Libo-on, OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent.
Ms. Aileen Ritze Pilar, Carwater Division Manager C-Administrative, also gave her message of support, on behalf of General Manager Homer Bermudo.
The program proper of the launching event, which was aired live via Facebook, commenced with the presentation of the humble beginnings of the radio station, followed by the introduction of the Trompa anchors, technical staff, Trompa kids and volunteers, and the radio’s new programs.
The event was also filled with lively and spectacular intermission numbers from the 2022 Grupo Lingaw Lingaw and Boracay Fire Dancers. Ms. Kaye Stephanie Marabe and Mr. Jay-r Fernandez from PEACE Family and Ms. Jessa Joys Liper also showcased their musical talents. SPED IS Learners Ghian Lex Katada and Neigh Escotido’s impressive performance also wowed the audience.
Initially started as a supplemental aid for blended learning during the pandemic, the LGU intends to use Radyo Trompa La Carlota as a medium in providing factual and timely news, immediate public service and quality entertainment to its constituents.
“This thing will continue…We need more media practitioners nga mangin involve sa radio station. And also iban nga offices diri sa La Carlota mangin part sini, tagaan sila time slots… and more are coming,” Mayor Rex said in his speech.
“Ang Radyo Trompa La Carlota will transform. Nga-a? Hindi naton pwede usikan ang resources sang aton nga ciudad, ang buwis sang mga La Carlotenos, so we need to transform, to be responsive to the needs of the times. That is why kami sa Radyo Trompa, indi lang kami subong radio-based instruction lang, kundi educational, news and public affairs, public services and entertainment programs…So ang vision ni Mayor nga panamion ang radio, himuon na namon. Challenge accepted,” Ms. Carmela Valencia, Public Information Officer and Station Manager, seconded.
