The City Government of La Carlota joined the celebration of World Water Day today, March 22 through a Tree Growing Activity at the Najalin River, Brgy. San Miguel.
Organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Management Office (ENRO) and Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) in partnership with URC-Sugar, URC-Distillery, SK Federation-La Carlota City, PNP-La Carlota, Estella Agrarian Reform Cooperative, Brgy. San Miguel Council and Girl Scouts of the Philippines-LCSES II, a total of 200 seedlings of narra, tago-anghel and bakan were planted along the river bank.
This year’s theme is, “Valuing Water”.
Mayor Rex Jalando-on emphasized that water is an essential part of his development plan for the city. He urged La Carloteños to protect our watershed and conserve water for the future generations.
Also present during the activity were Vice Mayor David Baga, SP members Jegie Aguirre, Baste Benedicto and Lidoy Miravalles, SK Federation President Josela Jomento, San Miguel Punong Barangay Leonora Robles, and PEMO Head, Atty. Danilo Amisola.
